About Anstey & District Funeral Services

About Us We offer a professional facility to serve your needs:

Anstey & District Funeral Services is located at Talbott House, 9a Leicester Road Anstey Leicester.  Established in 1992 by John and Pat Wright, Anstey & District Funeral Services has brought the "traditional" style of Funeral homes back into the village. Our establishment, at a former sweet factory on Leicester Road, Anstey is widely regarded as the finest facility in Anesty & Groby. Featuring Chaples of Rest, reception rooms, a modern mortuary facility and coffin workshop, garaging for our fleet of Black Daimler DS420 hearses and limousines, our own forecourt parking and an extensive catering suite suitable for up to 60 people. Both John and Pat have had wide experience in the funeral trade. After leaving school John worked for one of the larger firms of Funeral Directors in Leicester, before becoming disillusioned by the direction the trade was heading. He then spent some 15 years with Leicester City Council. Seeking a new challenge, and with his desire to see traditional values restored to funerals, he decided to start his own business. Pat who is the daughter of a village Funeral Director was well qualified to assist. Over the past few years, the business has flourished, with the emphasis on providing a personal and caring service for families at their time of need. The business is run with the support of their qualified funeral director, Arran and funeral assistant, Gareth.

We pride ourselves on our dedication and commitment to our families and believe that anyone who trusts us with the care of their loved one deserves the very best levels of help and guidance to assist them in arranging a meaningful and memorable funeral service.

We abide by the codes of practice of SAIF and strive to ensure that every funeral we conduct is to the highest standard possible.

Our unique premises are quite unlike those of any other Funeral Directors and provide a comforting and relaxing environment in which to arrange a funeral. Our chapels of rest give families the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones, in privacy, ahead of the actual day.

We consider it an honor to take care of a family's arrangements and aim to provide caring, professional funeral services, personalized to suit your wishes and those of the deceased.

This website is an extension to the specialist information that we, as your Funeral Director, will discuss with you. It allows you to sit in the privacy of your own home and reflect on the information you have been given, and to raise any further questions you may have about the complementary or additional services we can provide. It is not our policy to impose urgency or apply undue pressure on you or your family. It is important for many people to reflect the personality and character of the deceased within the arrangements and this often requires time and thought to do so.

“From the day you came round to see us, until the funeral, you became one of the family and it gave us great comfort, to know that you were looking after mum leading up until the funeral, thanks for the advice and guidance you gave us on everything, and as hard as the day was, it was actually very wonderful and I know mum would have agreed”
